Major's Fifth Birthday Party

Josh is really into biking lately. Recently, he took the girl biking with him. They packed their water bottles and snacks and hit the trails. Mary Alice loves when her daddy spends time with her. Her face is practically glowing in these pictures.

Here is a pic of Milla. She is full of new tricks. During the past few weeks, she started rolling over and pushing up like she is in this picture. She also seems to have discovered her voice and delights us all with her high pitched squeals.

We had Major's fifth birthday party this Saturday at a local bowling alley. He told me that he wanted a superhero bowling party. He wanted everyone to come dressed up as superheroes. We decided that requiring everyone to dress up was a bit over the top, but did manage to give out paper Superman masks as a party favor. I think the party was a hit. It was the easiest party ever, which was exactly what I needed right now. Josh and I didn't get very many good pictures, which I hate! Here are a few that we managed to snap. I guess we were just having too much fun to think about taking pictures.

A few highlights:

1)Almost our entire families were at the party, including all three of Major's cousins!

2)This was Major's first "friend" birthday party. He really enjoyed getting to have a few buddies there.

3) Major was given a huge blue bowling pin cup with the drink of his choice (Root Beer). That was a BIG deal. :)

4) His Superman cake-- The kids kept wanting to take peek after peek at the cake before the party. Super Major was super excited about his cake!

5) The amount of noise that the boys made, especially once they received their blowers!

6) The Superman masks-- Their masks and Superman rings seemed to transform the already rambunctious boys into crazed superheroes.

On April 1st, the kids and I took a day off from school, packed some sack lunches, and headed off to the Museum of Science and History. Major told me that it was "his best birthday ever". The kids absolutely loved our little trip! My goal is for us to be finished with school by the end of April. Then we will be able to use the month of May for fun and field trips.
